Tokinvest uses Synthesys Network to bring Franklin Templeton's Tokenised Money Market Fund to the Middle East
June 10, 2026 | News

Dubai, UAE – June 10, 2026: Tokinvest, the VARA-regulated platform for real-world asset (RWA) tokenisation, today announced a distribution agreement that will make the Franklin OnChain U.S. Dollar Short-Term Money Market Fund, powered by Franklin Templeton’s proprietary Benji® platform, available to eligible investors across the Middle East. The fund is one of the most widely recognised tokenised money market products in the world, managed by Franklin Templeton, a global asset manager with $1.78 trillion in assets under management as of May 31, 2026.
The agreement represents a significant expansion of access to institutional-grade, regulated investment products for Middle East investors at a time when demand for tokenised alternatives to traditional cash management is accelerating globally.
Under the arrangement, Tokinvest acts as the distributor and platform operator for the Middle East - providing investor onboarding, order aggregation, execution, and platform access for eligible investors.
The product is the Franklin OnChain U.S. Dollar Short-Term Money Market Fund, a sub-fund of Franklin Templeton Investments VCC - a Singapore-domiciled variable capital company (VCC) authorised by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS). The sub-fund invests in a diversified portfolio of high-quality, short-term, U.S. dollar-denominated money market instruments, seeking a high level of current income consistent with the preservation of capital and liquidity (capital is not guaranteed). The fund does not currently distribute income; instead, net income accrues within the fund and is reflected in its net asset value per share. Each token is a record of ownership of fund shares - not a separate financial instrument - issued and recorded using Franklin Templeton's proprietary Benji® platform across public blockchain networks, combining a familiar money market fund structure with the efficiency and transparency of distributed ledger technology.
Franklin Templeton is widely recognised as a pioneer in tokenised money market funds, using its Benji® platform and blockchain technology to enhance transparency, access, and operational efficiency for investors and partners.
"Being able to distribute Franklin Templeton's tokenised money market fund is a major credibility milestone for Tokinvest and for the wider RWA market in the Middle East," said Scott Thiel, CEO and Co-Founder of Tokinvest. "It combines the strength of a globally recognised asset manager with a truly blockchain-native structure, powered by Franklin Templeton's Benji platform. Investors in our region can now access a regulated, institutional-grade money market fund through modern digital rails, which is exactly the kind of product that will define the next chapter of digital wealth."
"Tokenised funds only create real value when they can be accessed through trusted, regulated channels without the constraints of fragmentation," said Darien Poh, CEO of Synthesys. "Synthesys Network connects the regulated distribution of Franklin Templeton's tokenised fund to Tokinvest's Middle East footprint, opening an important new route to market for the fund, expanding liquidity demand without the need for rebuilding infrastructure.”
By combining Franklin Templeton's tokenised fund with Synthesys Network's connectivity infrastructure, Tokinvest can offer eligible investors an institutional-grade cash management product within its broader real-world asset (RWA) marketplace (subject to onboarding, suitability, and jurisdictional controls).
The agreement follows Tokinvest's milestone Issuance and Broker Dealer licence from Dubai's Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA), which enables the company to issue, broker, and distribute tokenised real-world assets across categories such as property, credit, commodities, and alternative investments.
As tokenised funds gain traction globally, from money market products to more complex strategies, Tokinvest aims to position Dubai and the Middle East as a leading region for regulated, digital-first access to these assets.
